IN MY LIFE...

Last night I had a date with my mom and dad. We watched a Star Cinema movie entitled IN MY LIFE which stars the Star For All Seasons Ms. Vilma Santos, her son Luis Manzano and a versatile actor John Lloyd Cruz and is directed by Olivia Lamasan, who also directed the movies Got 2 Believe in Magic and Milan. You may watch the full trailer of this abs-cbn movie IN MY LIFE here.

Among the characters, it was Shirley who made me laugh and cry as I can see in her my mother and myself (as a mother too). There was a part in the movie where Ms. Vilma Santos, Shirley, told about how there were times she wanted to give up but she didn’t because she had to be strong for her children. There I saw my mom… I believe many times in the past there were days she was just too tired, but she didn’t retire from motherhood – no one can. She smiled eventhough sometimes I knew her heart was breaking. I saw myself too… During my hepatitis days in China, I was supposed to do nothing for a month – do nothing but stay in bed to rest. But I had to take care of my son, who at that time was only over 2 years old. I had to bathe him, cook for him, cuddle and play with him. Those days I told myself, “I can rest from being a teacher (as I was employed as an English teacher when we were in China) but not as a wife and a mother.” So instead of saying goodbye to hepatitis A after a month, it took me 3 months. Oh well… But that’s also the beauty of motherhood, once you’re in, there’s no going out so the only choice we have mothers is FIGHT and GO ON!

How about you? Who are you in the movie IN MY LIFE? Who made you shed a 100 teardrops – Ms. Vilma Santos, Luis Manzano, John Lloyd Cruz or others?
